Julia Vandepolder earned an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree specializing in Studio Art and Art History at the University of Guelph. She has won numerous awards including most recently an Honourable Mention Award for her painting, 'Still Water' in the 35th VAM Juried Fine Arts Show at the Art Gallery of Mississauga and the First Prize Award for her piece, 'The Green Room' in the Biennial Juried Art Exhibition at the Glenhyrst Art Gallery of Brant.

In 2012, Vandepolder received a Visual Artist Emerging Grant from the Ontario Arts Council and completed a residency program at the Vermont Studio Center in 2011. Vandepolder has been continuously exhibiting at public and private galleries across Canada and her work is featured in both corporate and private collections including BMO Financial and Wellington County Museum & Archives, Ontario. She maintains a full time studio practice in Caledon, Ontario.
