These images show the current state of a new project comprised of individual wood panels with figures and objects cut out in silhouette. The panels are arranged into a staggered "stage set", so that viewers of the work may look through the set like a tunnel, providing a simplified three-dimensional illusory experience similar to the layered design of a theatre stage set. Each panel was printed on both sides using screenprint, linocut, and collagraph processes.
The display table, designed and built by master woodworker Sean Ledoux is "child height", with moving pull-lever and wheel-turning parts that may be interacted with from either the front or back. The Ontario Arts Council provided generous support for this project.
